WITec, a manufacturer of high-resolution optical and scanning probe microscopy solutions, has introduced the WITec Project Plus software package for advanced data evaluation and chemometric image processing. It features various tools for multivariate data analysis in the fields of confocal Raman imaging and scanning probe microscopy such as cluster analysis and principal component analysis. Thus, hidden structures in the images can be visualised automatically, leading to quick and consistent interpretation of the data. Additionally, a variety of analysis tools and algorithms enable comprehensive and user-friendly computerised data evaluation and image generation.
WITec Project Plus can be obtained as an add-on software package for the WITec Project data evaluation software. In Confocal Raman Imaging a complete Raman spectrum is acquired at each image pixel resulting in images consisting of tens of thousands of spectra. The WITec microscope series additionally allows the combination of Raman imaging with atomic force microscopy for a more comprehensive investigation of a sample.

WITec has introduced the WITec Project Plus software package for advanced data evaluation and chemometric image processing. It features various tools for multivariate data analysis in the fields of confocal Raman imaging and scanning probe microscopy such as cluster analysis and principal component analysis.
A sophisticated software package is essential for successful data evaluation and post-processing. WITec Control for instrument and measurement control and the WITec Project package provide a software environment from one source for the various microscopic techniques, measurement modes and microscope models.
Actions (Data Analysis). User-friendly software interface with smart access options for all principal functions (e.g.
Circle mouse menu, drag-and-drop actions). Accelerated workflow through intuitive menu guidance. High-speed data acquisition and processing through intelligent computer resource management (i.e. 1300 Raman spectra per second). Large data acquisition volume per measurement possible.
RamanTV for direct and fast spectrum-to-image visualization. Overlay of images from different measurements e.g.
Overlay of AFM/TrueSurface topography with chemical Raman information. Image post-processing. Smart access options Image Viewer Intuitive and convenient software handling for all principle data acquisition, evaluation, and processing functions. The Image Viewer facilitates the overlay of images from different measurements. Example image: Topography image of a profilometric measurement of an archaeological sample overlaid with the corresponding chemical confocal Raman image. Corresponding Raman spectra of the 3D Raman image. Ultrafast Raman Imaging option Image post-processing 3D Raman image of a pollen in honey.
Green: Pollen; Red, blue, cyan: Different crystalline phases in the honey. 01 Control FOUR Fast data acquisition combined with full instrument control Instrument control and definition of experimental settings is made easy with Control FOUR. The user interface changes automatically depending on the measurement mode and includes specialized routines and step-by-step sequences. The clear design shows all essential control parameters at a glance and facilitates a quick access to all measurement tasks, settings and signals.
Control FOUR additionally includes all features of the Project FOUR package for on- and offline data evaluation and post processing. Key Features of. 02 Project FOUR Sophisticated Data Evaluation and Processing WITec’s multi-user-friendly licensing concept allows the installation of Project FOUR on an arbitrary number of computer workstations for data evaluation and post-processing without additional individual licensing. Key Features of Project FOUR Data Evaluation and Processing Data Representation. Various pre-configured filters and algorithms for simplified data processing. RamanTV: high speed movie-like image presentation of spectral dataset, also functional as preview option simultaneously with data acquisition.
Filters and algorithms. Statistical Analysis and Data Evaluation Topography analysis of an AFM measurement. Automated peak labelling Acquisition of large data volumes 01 Large Confocal 3D Raman volume image (25 x 25 x 20 μm3, 200 x 200 x 50 pixels = 2,000,000 Raman spectra, data file size 6 Gbyte). 02 Large-area, high-resolution confocal Raman image of a pharmaceutical emulsion with 4,194,304 Raman spectra and a raw data file size of 12.5 Gbyte. 03 04 The consecutive zoom-ins of the same dataset illustrate the extremely high-resolution of the large-area scan. 03 Project FOUR+ Advanced Data Evaluation and Processing Project FOUR+ is the software extension for advanced chemometric and microscopic data evaluation and processing.
A variety of intelligent algorithms for multivariate data analysis of hyperspectral Raman data files allow the computerized unveiling of hidden structures automatically.
